Centella asiatica known as Gotu Kola is a medicinal plant that has been used in folk medicine for hundreds of years as well as in scientifically oriented medicine. Its active compounds include pentacyclic triterpenes, mainly asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic and madecassic acids.
